AAFA EARLY ANTIQUE FOLK ART ORIGINAL BLUE PAINTED WOOD PANTRY BOX. Up for sale is this beautiful 19th Century Early pantry box. We love the old Early paint and great patina on this little pantry box. It’s round and has a round lid. The top has a few small pieces of wood missing on the lid as you can see in the pictures. There is also a split on the inside where the band comes together as shown in the photos – not hard to fix. There is also edge wear/paint loss around the whole pantry box where the lid sits. It should look like this if it is original! The color is a polychrome blue, more of a vibrant blue. This was a hard paint/color to get right in the pictures. It is not purple or dark blue – more vibrant. The banding is square-ended and has little round-headed nails in it as well as into the side of the pantry box at the seam. It has some age and wear, wood loss, paint loss, dents, and scratches but is still solid. It measures 10.25″ in diameter at the lid and about 5.125″ high with the lid on. It weighs about 1.5 lbs. Antique Shaker Style Finger Banded Folk Art Painted Firkin Pantry Bucket, Signed. Nice handpainted folk art New England Firkin pantry bucket. The paint work has a nice age and patina to it. Signed on the bottom E. The bucket is in good structural condition with 2 finger bands on the bottom portion and 1 finger band around the lid. There is no upper band. It may have had one (there are some nail holes) and was remove prior to painting. Theres a few small areas where the paint has been scuffed and general overall wear which adds to its appeal. The inside has some staining and smells like a tobacco drying barn (sweet tobacco smell). Measures approximately 10 tall and 10 across the lid. The base being wider is 11 1/6 across. The inside dimensions is 8 5/8 deep by 8 11/16 across. Please send me a message to start the return process. I respond to messages very quickly. AAFA EARLY ANTIQUE FOLK ART FADED GREY GRAY/BLUE PAINTED PANTRY BOX. Up for sale is this beautiful 19th Century Early pantry box in original paint. We love the old Early paint and great patina on this little pantry box. It’s round and has a round lid. The top has a very small piece of wood missing off the lid as you can see in the pictures where one of the nails chipped the top slightly. There is also a split at one of the nails as shown in the photos. The color is a grey grey, much like a Confederate grey. The bottom of the pantry box has some wear, dings, nicks and scrapes as you can see in the pictures. Inside it’s very clean but does have a very slight “old” smell to it inside. There are two or three small holes in the bottom on the inside that do not go through to the outside. The bottom has some old staining, perhaps from water or something. There are old rusty nails and the bottom edge is worn in places as you can see in the pictures. It has some age and wear, wood loss, paint loss, dents, scratches and minor cracks but is still solid. It measures 8.25″ in diameter at the lid and about 4.25″ high with the lid on. It weighs about 1 lbs. We will do our best to answer your questions. Thank you for looking at this item. American Folk Art Primitive Bentwood Pantry-Box Red Painted AAFA. This terrific pantry-box features a nice dry painted finish, originally painted blue and later on in red. I have done nothing to alter/add/detract from this wonderful pantry-box “as found” from an elderly gents estate here in NH. Box is approximately 8.25″ in diameter and 4″ deep. There is one fine line in the woodgrain (last 3 pics) that does not affect integrity, just adds character. All the nails and pegs around the bottom are original and no splits or problems, the lid goes on and off with a nice fit/feel. Antique 19thC NEW ENGLAND PANTRY BOX CELERY-GREEN PAINT AAFA Folk Art Primitive. Hands down one of the best pantry boxes I’ve handled as far as surface and form go (and size to boot). It’s approx 8″W across the top (by) 5.75″H. Chunky, thick, swamped with patina. Long, slender fingers of opposing arrangement snug to the body with symetrically placed iron nails. Body with straight, nailed seam. Flared and chamfered handle, carved mushroom pegs. Top and bottom boards are nailed not pegged. The handle sat against the box for a very, very long time undisturbed, when lifted you can see more of a yellowish color under it possibly the original color (see last pic).
