This handsome visage is part of a pair discovered in a Massachusetts attic and remaining untouched. Please see our other sales for the companion portrait. Measuring 26 1/4″ x 22 1/2″ the oil on canvas is mounted to its original red-wash thin-wood rack/stretcher having lapped corner hoints and wrought head nails. The subject gazes confidently at the viewer with a somewhat world-weary expression under thinning gray hair; a wig? Or something fluffy appears to rest on the table to his left. As the images show, the paint layer is HEAVILY crazed (stable) and the surface is absolutely filthy; it has not been lined. There are some minor edge losses and a pronounced stretcher line. This will leave some new holes in the rack but is preferable to damaging the canvas. AAFA EARLY FOLK ART ANTIQUE WALL CABINET CUPBOARD OLD BUTTERCREAM PAINT CRATES. Up for sale is this wonderful old wall cabinet or cupboard. It’s a very soft buttercream color. It has a single door and flat top with a top scalloped crown to it. There are two butterfly style hinges and a wooden knob / pull. The hinges are probably the original ones as you can’t see an outline of another hinge anywhere. The hinges have some surface rust on them. The cabinet measures 17.5″ W x 10.25″ D x 28.5 H to the front scallop. The cabinet is old and the paint old, dry and has a lot of alligatoring you can see in the pictures. It does have round nails and some of them are rusty too. The paint is old and crackled with hints of wood showing through. The back of the cupboard is wood and it made from four pieces of wood. The top is also painted as you can see. It is also square mortised at the top to the sides. Inside there are two shelves, three sections total. The inside is not painted and the middle shelf is made from an old crate that says G. It announces their daughters marriage in 1943. Please see the photos for an accurate detail and description. Antique Early Folk Art Cabinet Original Paint Alligator Square Nails Gray Grey

ANTIQUE EARLY FOLK ART CHIMNEY CABINET ORIGINAL GREY PAINT ALLIGATOR SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this amazing old single door cabinet with old square nails. This is the real deal!! It’s old, it’s Primitive and it’s fabulous! 86 H x 33.5 W x 19.5 D. It’s very tall! We’ve had people take their time getting their shipper to come and get the items and it dings our ratings. Barber pole is not for sale. It’s a single door chimney cabinet with one drawer down below. The hardware, hinges, and latches all match and appear to be original, which is rare! The door has a little spring latch with a metal knob. It has some scroll work / etching on the latch, very nice! The hinges are small Shaker-style hinges. The door works well but is sagging a little so you have to lift up on it in order to close it fully. The drawer has two wooden mushroom knobs pulls on it. All of the hardware is old, worn, rusty and in places painted. The top has a small crown molding around the top of the cabinet. The sides are tongue and groove bead board wood. The bottom has a trim around it and that trim has deteriorated a little on the left front at the bottom. He bottom has some wear to it as you can see in the pictures. The cabinet will likely need shims as you can see the brace underneath and the wear / aged wood underneath. The back is made from thinner tongue and groove boards. There is one newer hole that someone sadly drilled in the back of the cabinet. But, the back is covered with old square nails as you can see in the pictures. It’s an old grey paint and the inside is not painted. The shelves all come out so it could be used as an armoire. All the shelves are made from a larger board and a thinner board as you can see in the pictures. The drawer down below is dovetail mortised as you can see in the close-up picture. There are also some scratches, nicks, chips, surface rust, paint loss, alligator paint, crackle, hand rub wear, edge wear, paint marks and patina. These are all things you want to see in a true antique – don’t you just love it? ! ? ! It’s a nice piece for your collection. Thank you for looking at this item. Early Aafa Folk Art Antique Wood Carnival Game Wheel Bicycle Original Paint

EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE CARNIVAL GAMING WHEEL GAME OF CHANCE WOODEN BICYCLE WHEEL. The wheel itself is all original with some nicks and scuffs here or there. We’re guessing that this is from the early 1900’s but we don’t know. On one side it’s yellow with black letters and blue trim. On the other side, you can pretty much just see the yellow wood part. The numbers on the front side range from 1 to 120 and start with 1, 21, 41, 61, 81, and 101, then 2, 22, 42, etc. We don’t know what game this would have been but this old wheel, mounted on a bicycle rim has great character and charm! The wheel measures 31.5 across and weighs about 8.5 lbs. The bicycle wheel measures 25 across. The pins around the wheel are metal, rust, strong and even somewhat sharp if you catch them wrong. The paint on the wheel is crazed, alligator-ed, worn, scuffed, nicked, marked and patina-ed… Just the way we love it! The bicycle wheel and the spokes are rusty, crazed and scuffed. The outside rim of the bicycle wheel is wood… Which could date it from as far back 1869 when they started making bicycle wheels made from metal spokes and wooden rims. Later, the rims went to metal so it’s likely that at some point, someone took an old wheel and made this game wheel. We don’t know the age of this item but we wish it could talk! AAFA ANTIQUE EARLY FOLK ART GENERAL COUNTRY STORE SALES COUNTER OLD BLUE PAINT SQUARE NAILS. This wonderful old counter measures 71.5″ long x 24.5″ wide x 37 high and has beautiful old blue paint with a thick wood top. Up for sale is this. Wonderful late 1800’s or early 1900’s general store sales counter. It’s a great height and perfect for a kitchen island statement piece. The top is smooth around the edges from years of use. Parts of the top have heavy knife / character marks as you can see in the pictures. It is very sturdy and in good condition for its age. This would a be wonderful sales counter for a coffee shop or any retail situation. It would also make a nice kitchen island with plenty of storage underneath! There are some nicks, dings, chips, chunks, holes, divots, edge wear, cracks, alligatoring, stains, paint loss and scratches here and there as you’d expect from an item of this age. The panel on the left side is cracked as you can see in the close up picture. The top has some lighter and darker marks also shown in the pictures. The top looks like old worn walnut to us but you make the call. The paint is old. It might have been originally white underneath, or wood, but either way, the blue paint is old and alligatored. This is all what you’d expect from a counter that was well used over the years. There are some square nails that were used in the original construction. There are some newer nails and screws that were added over the years to firm things up. There are also old, rusty flathead screws too. We can also recommend a couple of shippers. AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART 1800’s BITTERSWEET BLUE PAINT PRIMITIVE DRY SINK SQUARE NAILS WITH LINER. Up for sale is this wonderful old primitive dry sink. 48.25 w x 17.75 d x 37 h. It’s a nice sized two door cabinet with a shelf inside. It has outstanding bittersweet and blue colors on the outside. Even more-so, it’s a wonderful dry, soft buttercream / yellow color inside, including the shelf. Please see photos for the best description and accuracy. The paint appears to be all original and is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn and patina-ed! There are also some cracks in the wood from age. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! It’s an old dry sink and inside the top part there is the liner as you can see, very cool. The doors open and the left door has a metal latch and loop to hold it shut. Then when the right door closes, it latches with a little spring latch that has a cool old knob / turn also. You could leave the doors open and display crocks, or firkins or other wonderful items. The hinges are little rusty Shaker style hinges as you can see in the pictures. There are a lot of old rusty nails as you can see in the pictures. Many of them are square nails, especially on the front. Some are rusty and round while others are gnarly and rusty like roseheads. On the sides there are boot jacks that are whale tails. The paint has some edge wear, scrapes, patina, fading, variations of color, wood showing through, chipping and nicks. Aafa Folk Art Early Primitive Antique Old Wood Grey Original Paint Tote Tray

AAFA FOLK ART EARLY PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE OLD WOOD GREY ORIGINAL PAINT TOTE TRAY. Up for sale is this old antique tote with a handle. It’s wood and has splayed sides and a handle cut out on in the middle carry it by. It’s a low tray and has old grey paint with more paint remaining on the outside and a darker patine on the inside. You can see lots of wood color under the missing paint. On one end, near the handle, there’s a notch out of the end wood. Below the notch there’s another little hole. We’re not sure what these were for, perhaps a drain? , but they appear to have been intentional. There’s also a saw cut on this end where perhaps they started another notch and stopped. On the other end, right next to the handle there’s a slot. The nails are rusty but appear to all be round. There is a lot of edge wear, paint loss, nicks, scrapes, splatters, scratches, and dings. There is also a lot of iron spotting around the nails. On the bottom there is some green paint here and there. This looks to be something it may have been set in rather than paint that it was painted, but we’re not sure. All of these “issues” are just as you’d expect from an item of this age. 25.5 L x 12.25 W x 3.5 H to rim x 7.5 H to handle. It’s a very nice piece for your collection. AMAZING AAFA 1800’S ORIGINAL PAINT YELLOW BLUE EARLY PRIMITIVE WOOD DRY SINK. Up for sale is this wonderful old primitive dry sink. It’s a nice sized two door cabinet with a shelf inside. It’s a wonderful dry, soft yellow color with blue and wood undertones. There is paint coming through the yellow paint. There is a wonderful blue paint on the inside of the doors which may indicate that the entire cabinet. May have been blue at one point and the outside yellow was the secondary color. Please see photos for the best description and accuracy. The paint appears to be all original and is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn and patina-ed! There are also some cracks in the wood from age. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! Early 19th Century NY State Lg Tin Toleware Document Box W Orig Folk Art Paint

Wonderful early 19th century tin toleware document box. Great folk art look. New York State in origin. Larger than often found, it has a domed hinged lid and is complete with its hinges, top brass handle, and clasp closure. It is wonderfully hand painted with a beautiful mustard yellow and red floral pattern with various painted motifs all around. The left side shows no evidence of paint decoration, and must have either never been painted or it has completely worn off. Measures 9 9 3/4 inches across by 5 3/4 inches deep by 7 1/4 inches tall.
