The metal stem of the lamp has two beautifully carved and painted miniature wooden pintail ducks in flight mounted on it. The underside of the drakes wing is signed J. The lampshade is original, and in very good condition. Each miniature carved duck measures approx. 5.5 inches in length, with wing spans measuring 6 inches across. Drake and hen have carved bills and painted eyes. The wooden base of the lamp appears to be made of walnut of cherry, and measures approx. 6.25 by 4.75 inches. Total height of the lamp, including shade, is 15.75 inches. Condition is good, having light soiling and wear commensurate with age and use: The drake and hen each have chips/losses in the bottom margins of their wings, very near where the wings meet the body. Antique Folk Art horse pull toy ca. Stands 19 1/8 tall as seen. Weighs about 11 pounds. Horse alone is 16 7/8 tall, 20 1/2 long, about 5 wide. Base is 8 3/4 wide, 20 3/4 long and 1 thick. Very fine late 19th century carved wood horse pull toy. Original leather saddle , missing stirrups. Most of the reins are also missing but still has. Four metal tacks and a leather strip behind the ears. Original black finish accentuated with white at the ankles and face. Plus a yellow outline around the saddle. Has a beautifully carved flowing mane on the right side. Real horse hair tail. Base is a single piece of 1 thick oak with cut outs for the four wooded wheels. It has a small remnant of the leather pull at the front. A few minor scuffs. Tip of its left ear was broke off and glued back on. More photos on request. Found in central Iowa. This will be carefully packed in a large box. Measuring roughly 15″ x 26″ x 26. This offering is for a vintage ca 1940’s to 50’s hand made folk art wooden doll figure. The young lady stands app. 17 tall and has metal post on the bottoms of her feet to put her on a stand, there is no stand. There are no makers markings. The head and torso were carved from one piece of wood, the wooden arms are jointed at the shoulders with wire and the wooden legs are attached with wire as well. She wears what appears to be her original clothing and hat, she has a purse over her arm. The workmanship is excellent and the condition is wonderful. There is minor soiling to her clothing and wear to her hat. The tip of one foot is missing. Otherwise there are no breaks or cracks and she displays beautifully. This important historic one-of-a-kind mid to late 19Th century European hand carved and painted wooden deer amusement ride is one of the earliest produced for children’s carousels or merry-go-rounds and would have been at a fair or carnival. It’s truly a museum quality piece and has been owned and displayed in one for decades. Hand carved wood, two-sided, original paint with beautiful coloring and detail, resting on a cast iron base, all make this the perfect unique, attractive one-of-a kind decorative piece. It has been owned and featured in numerous exhibits in the museum for decades. Retains location tag from the museum. This is from one of the earliest examples of the modern platform style carousel, called dobbies, that were invented in the mid 19th century.
