Dimensions 21.5 X 13.5 Folk art painting, an original, signed by legendary artist and deeply spiritual visionary- Howard Finster. Howard created his self portrait on a canvas of wood paneling at ” 1:12 past midnight” on September, 19, 1988. This single owner piece lovingly resided in our residential home environment and is in the exact condition as the day acquired. Not exposed to sunlight from windows or fluorescent lighting. Howard’s production date and signature are noted front/back and interestingly inscribed “Howard in 1944″ (neck) which would have been a likeness of a 28 year old Howard seen through the eyes of a 72 year old. Condition is good and clean on front, showing some slight small places of paint loss on utmost edges. Lower left bottom corner is worn and slightly split. Painting will frame nicely and hide these imperfections. Artist is deceased and is a well known artist and gardener.
