It has a really primitive folk art look and nice lines with a great accent look and wonderful colors. It has a nice painted patina and some nice age paint and surface wear. Antique magician’s travelling box of tricks, c. Great paint and folky hand-painted lettering. “Zurando” the Great apparently performed with this painted leather-clad box for many years an earlier version of his impressive title is visible under the outer layer of paint. These types of travelling cases were typically designed to carry fraternal regalia, but its size and design clearly worked well for Zurando’s magical endeavors. It sadly no longer contains his tricks, but in my spell book, the case is magic in itself. Good antique condition for a well-travelled box having endured many years of great magic, with chips to exterior paint and other expected wear. Nice David Ellinger Theorom painting on velvet, Pa. Folk Art

We are pleased to offer this authentic THEOREM painting….. Or painting on velvet……. A 19th century technique used to give more depth to a painting by using velvet as the surface to which paint was applied. This technique was quite popular during the 19th century, particularly for painting “still life” representations of fruit and sometimes flowers. The technique was used throughout the early colonies, although not as frequently by the Penna. However, David Ellinger was an accomplished artist and teacher, who lived in Berks Co. And, being fascinated by the Penna. Dutch artistic representations on their hex signs, furniture and fraktur drawing…… Choose to recreate some of these designs in a more secular manner, and market to the new found collectors who were drawn to the bright colors and designs of these peoples. An ardent following for his works soon developed and his work has been highly sought by Folk Art collectors across America. At his passing in 2003 he had probably produced several thousand works over his 80+ year lifetime…… All similar in nature, but each an individual work, the product of his hands. This charming work showing a brightly colore3d basket of strawberries, with bird perched at top is quintessential Ellinger. His signature is a bottom of work and the “grain painted” frame was also a product of his workshop. Overall size is 17.5in. We fully guarantee everything we sell.. Early Aafa Folk Art Antique Table Top Pie Safe Old Original White Paint

EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE BLUE TABLE TOP PIE SAFE OLD ORIGINAL WHITE PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful old tabletop pie safe. It’s old and adorable! It’s a nice white color with old screens. It’s got tons of character! It has an old screw that goes into a hole for a latch that keeps it closed. The knob appears to be black plastic and is probably newer than the pie safe. Inside there are 3 little wooden dowel shelves. It’s a wonderful white color with lots of patina, paint loss, edgewear, nicks, scrapes, and overall wear. There are many rusty and round nails in it as well as some brighter finish nails here and there around the trim of the screens. Overall, it has an aged patina to it with a little grunge here and there. It’s not perfect but then again, it is! It measures 27″ H x 13.75″ W x 13 D. It weighs 14 lbs.
