Such a charming piece! This vintage, self-taught, naive folk art oil painting captures the beauty of a blossoming countryside featuring almond trees. The painting is signed by T. Few and is one of a kind. The canvas size measures 14.75″ in length and width, while the framed painting is 11″ in height. Acquired from a Louisville KY estate. Antique Folk Art Oil Painting Waterfalls Trees Landscape Signed in the Original Frame. The frame measures 17 1/2″ x 30″ that fits artwork 13 1/2″ x 26″. It is signed and dated lower left, most of that is under the frame edge so could not read clearly, the backing has a note saying signed UDV. It is about 1900 era, certainly well over 100 years old. I personally like it, has a great Americana folk art style. Overall decent good condition, artwork looks good but note it is painted on a wood panel so shows some normal imperfections in the wood texture. The ornate gold gilt cast plaster gesso on wood frame has some typical edge chipping.

This wonderful black-faced sheep, made of canvas or a similar fabric, is the work of Pennsylvania folk artist Kathi Stingle, who tagged it on the bottom with a gold name sticker. Beneath the sheep (between its legs), the artist has painted nighttime snow scenes showing snow-covered evergreens against rolling hills. The full moon appears on one side. The sheep, depicted with piercing brown eyes, measures approximately 8 by 7 inches and is just a couple of inches wide. It’s in good vintage condition. We see a bit of rubbing of the fabric at the nose and a couple of light hairline cracks in the finish of the snow scene painting on one side. A beautiful country dusk scene of a stone cottage, a birdhouse, blueberries, plum trees, a full moon, dogwood flowers, a girl swinging on a tree wood swing with an eventail fan, doves, sunbeams, and a pond with a swan. Some of the painting seen is in the shape of a cross. Painting is crystal clear in person. Condition is great and clean overall. Painting size is 16 by 20 inches. Finish is highly glossed with a gloss polyurethane. Painting was painted on sides, painted back and varnished overall, and left to dry for a long while. Painting is initialed on front twice, and fully signed, titled and dated on the back. Painting was professionally adhered to background wood painted border and will NOT detach. Painting is 2 pieces of wood which includes a border. Both pieces of wood are professionally adhered. Both pieces of wood are professionally adhered and they shall never separate. As the artist, I made certain the painting was made to last for centuries, if properly cared for. Both pieces of wood are strongly professionally adhered and will NOT detach. Overall size with frame is approximately 16 by 20 inches. Painting has soft gold mica powder accent throughout in the varnish, which gives an ethereal glow and appearance. Please IGNORE camera flash glare as this has a heavy gloss varnish. The painting is crystal clear in person and painted with exquisite detailing.
