This is a Medium size Retablo and an original Painting from Cusco Peru, done in the 17th century Baroque “Cusco School” Style. The painting is in the middle and a large wood frame heavenly covered in Silver tone Milagros. Saint Michael the Archangel, he is the. Patron saint of grocers, mariners, paratroopers, police officers, and military personnel. Despite the painting coming from Peru, the wood retablo and decorative boarder was made in Patzcuaro Michoacan where the painting was incorporated into this nicho. It would make a wonderful gift for the devout person in your life, or a great addition to your Mexican Folk Art Collection.. 13 1/2 inches tall by 8 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/4 inch deep.
