Offering a wonderful small size, 19th century, 6 3/4 diameter round wooden pantry box with lid, in a wonderful, early, dark blue painted surface… The box has a wonderful “crazed” worn surface and shows appropriate wear consistent with age. The pantry box is a nice small, heavy gauge example, and has copper tacks and wooden pegs securing the lid band and the overlapping on the box. The pantry box is “signed” / marked on the bottom with the initials J. A WONDERFUL, SMALL PANTRY BOX IN FABULOUS EARLY DARK BLUE PAINTED SURFACE!! DIMENSIONS – 6 3/4″ diameter top, 6 3/8″ diameter bottom, 2 3/4 high. CONDITION – EXCELLENT CONDITION STRUCTURALLY – SOLID AND TIGHT WITH NO DAMAGE – NO SPLITS, CRACKS, WOOD LOSS OR REPAIRS – SECURED WITH ORIGINAL COPPER TACKS AND WOODEN PEGS – RETAINS WONDERFUL, EARLY, OXIDIZED, DARK BLUE PAINTED SURFACE – PAINT ON LID IS WELL “CRAZED” BUT TIGHT AND SECURE – SHOWS TYPICAL AND EXPECTED SURFACE WEAR CONSISTENT WITH AGE.
