VTG Signed ORIGINAL PRIMITIVE OIL PAINTING M Morgan GREYHOUND DOG PORTRAIT 30×36
Here we have a fantastic framed primitive-style 20th century oil painting on canvas featuring a black and white greyhound dog in a landscape. Landscape details in the background, including a castle and a village. Vintage : undated late 20th century, probably no earlier than the 1980s (our very best guess). Morgan on lower right. Please note that we are not art experts. We have no reason to suspect the authenticity of this piece, nor do we possess the knowledge to judge it as a work of a known or listed artist. We try to be exceptionally honest about everything we sell and what we know about it, and expertise in artwork is exceptionally difficult to gain. We respect it and we do not claim to have it. Approximate measurements : Painting: 24″ x 30″ Frame: 29.5″ x 35.5″. Condition : Our photos are the most important part of our description. Please zoom in and enlarge all of them and examine the details closely. We are not art experts, so please do not rely on our description to completely inform you. We have made no attempt to clean, polish, repair or otherwise alter the appearance of this vintage piece. The solid-wood, gold-tone frame with linen border has wear and considerable chipping to the corners and left edge see close-up photos, especially with arrow pointing to the damage. We haven’t inspected the painting outside of the frame. From what we can see, the painting is free of holes, tears, chips, wrinkles and crinkles. There is a light scuff to the upper right corner, and a very small raised bump on the lower left of the canvas — see photos with bump highlighted on front and back. Sorry, we don’t know what it is or if it is even considered to be an issue, but it’s there and we’re not sure, so we share that info. The painting has been on display in private homes, but shows no signs of exposure to smoke and nicotine, or of having been held in storage, a barn, an attic or a moldy basement. Comes ready to hang. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. He’s definitely 20th century, but judging by the slight warp and aging to the base, I’d put him in the first half of the century. Antique Early Folk Art Cabinet Original Paint Alligator Square Nails Gray Grey
ANTIQUE EARLY FOLK ART CHIMNEY CABINET ORIGINAL GREY PAINT ALLIGATOR SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this amazing old single door cabinet with old square nails. This is the real deal!! It’s old, it’s Primitive and it’s fabulous! 86 H x 33.5 W x 19.5 D. It’s very tall! We’ve had people take their time getting their shipper to come and get the items and it dings our ratings. Barber pole is not for sale. It’s a single door chimney cabinet with one drawer down below. The hardware, hinges, and latches all match and appear to be original, which is rare! The door has a little spring latch with a metal knob. It has some scroll work / etching on the latch, very nice! The hinges are small Shaker-style hinges. The door works well but is sagging a little so you have to lift up on it in order to close it fully. The drawer has two wooden mushroom knobs pulls on it. All of the hardware is old, worn, rusty and in places painted. The top has a small crown molding around the top of the cabinet. The sides are tongue and groove bead board wood. The bottom has a trim around it and that trim has deteriorated a little on the left front at the bottom. He bottom has some wear to it as you can see in the pictures. The cabinet will likely need shims as you can see the brace underneath and the wear / aged wood underneath. The back is made from thinner tongue and groove boards. There is one newer hole that someone sadly drilled in the back of the cabinet. But, the back is covered with old square nails as you can see in the pictures. It’s an old grey paint and the inside is not painted. The shelves all come out so it could be used as an armoire. All the shelves are made from a larger board and a thinner board as you can see in the pictures. The drawer down below is dovetail mortised as you can see in the close-up picture. There are also some scratches, nicks, chips, surface rust, paint loss, alligator paint, crackle, hand rub wear, edge wear, paint marks and patina. These are all things you want to see in a true antique – don’t you just love it? ! ? ! It’s a nice piece for your collection. Thank you for looking at this item. PSYCHEDELIC Mitris Mixed Media Painting Wood Mid Century Folk Wall Sculpture
This is a wicked cool folk original piece by Mitris that is quite large and heavy (30lbs). One of a kind trippy art that is sure to make a statement! Definitely attracts the free spirited type! This does have some damage on top of frame and a few small sticks are bent a bit, but all minor issues and hardly noticeable. The frame could still be disguised by just painting broken pierce black. Nobody would notice it. Please see all pics. Overall, this is a phenomenal deal for an original artist piece that hung out with the 20th Century masters and is collected around the world. Laimon Mitris is a remarkable, if little known artist. Born in 1920 in Latvia, he has spent the last five decades living in Quebec, almost all the time in Rouyn Noranda, Abitibi-Temiscamingue, and making amazing images in his unique style. Mitris’s palette often uses vibrant and vivid colors. He often cuts out many pieces of differents woods essence for supports, before painting them, and assembling them into multi-layered constructions.
