From our own family’s collection! A similar art piece by this artist was called “Villagers Working Near The Red Tree”. Size: 8″x10″ approximate inches. Simeon Michel the master of the “Flamboyant” began to draw at an early age. He developed his own style and used colors that made him instantly recognizable by collectors all over the world. He claims that painting, to him is more than a passion, it’s a madness. His paintings depict the Haitian countryside and remind us of the French “impressionistic” style. Simeon is by no doubt, an excellent choice for any collector. We did make great efforts to upload clear pictures. Antique Wooden Working Decoy form Hamilton, Ontario Canada. Several coats of paint added over years. Duck is in preening position. The wood has drying cracks and is in good shape for age. The keel has lead insert in the back. History, came from Hamilton, Ontario region of Canada and migrated to Millington, Michigan, several hunting trips can be seen from wear on the wood. Migrated again to Churchville, Maryland and flew in to a collections, who put on a shelf for several years with other Canadian decoys, also, from Madison Mitchell, Captain Harry Jobes, and numerous Maryland decoy makers.
