Hello, you are viewing my listing for a LARGE Antique Pennsylvania Dutch Wood Trunk Storage Chest with Folk Art Painted Colors and Designs throughout. This trunk chest was found in Gettysburg Pennsylvania. It measures 29 and 3/4″ long by 19″ wide by 16 and 1/2 tall. There are wheels present on the bottom. This trunk is in good condition with some minor damage and wear present. There are no repairs. The front is missing a latch where it locks. This is an amazing Pennsylvania trunk with wonderful details and character. Please view all my photographs for further details. Please note all sales are final. Blanket chest in grain painted mustard yellow with stacked bun style feet, measuring approx. 37″ long x 18.5″ wide x 22 tall, in total. Solid construction with s. Quare nail construction, sturdy and beautifully crafted &. There is an inner storage tray with lid, but it does not have a key. It has blemishes sustained during regular use or during several moves over the course of its life, and so there are small pieces of wood missing on the edges of the lid trim, scratches & wear to paint, wood shrinkage gap in a bottom board. The wood beneath the hinges was replaced at some point as well. There is a water stain on the top. Most of this is shown or can be seen in the photos(need more just ask). The item “19c. Antique storage bench from Hungary with original Folk Art paint, dated 1899. This sturdy pine bench is painted with an original rust colored background and five floral panels in green and orange on the back, seat and front. If you look closely, the date 1899 is painted in white using the spaces in between the panels, on both on the backrest and the front baseboard. Inside the hinged seat is a large storage compartment. The wear on the original paint is commensurate with the age of the bench and still retains a lot of detail and vibrant colors. Signed along the back rest. Antique Romanian Folk Art Painted Storage Bench. This small country pine bench retains the original aged paint from 1912, when it was made. The traditional folk art of the late 1800’s into 1900’s included floral motifs painted in panels, often using blue and red backgrounds such as this one. It has a low seat back, and a bench seat which lifts to reveal hidden storage below. The wear and fade of the paint reflects its 100 years of use, and adds to the country charm of the bench. Up for sale is this nicely-preserved hand-painted document or storage box from the mid-19th century. Made from pine with iron cut nails and cast iron hinges. Dimensions – 14-1/4″ long x 9-5/8″ wide x 8-1/2 tall. This exterior of the box exhibits beautiful green floral motifs and patterns. The inside of the box appears to have been “papered” with various types of wallpaper – most of which is now missing.
