For sale is this nice folky oil painting on artist board of chicks eating out of an oyster shell. The painting has great use of perspective and shadow as well as expert use of the brush. The painting is not signed , however on the back it is marked with the date FEB. 25th 1895 and initials MM which I assume are the painters. The painting is in good condition, there is a small amount of paint loss from a few scratches. The biggest one is at the top , shown in the photo. They are quite superficial. A great painting with lots of charm and character. The painting measures 11/3/4″ x 9 1/2″ with out the frame. With frame it measures 14 3/4″x 12 1/2″. The frame is a nice antique walnut one , probably original to the painting.
