Up for sale is an absolutely incredible piece that I picked up from a local garage sale. This mixed media sculpture/construction/diorama assemblage art was created by famed Simi Valley, California illustrator Ronald Lipking, who is well known as a children’s (including Sesame Street magazine) and comic books illustrator, and is featured in the National Gallery of Art. This piece is a “Ghost Box” that contains a a demon head poking out from center, replete with horns and hair. It also has hand-painted interior panels and gives off a very Dia De Los Muertos/Halloween vibe. The painted scenes on the doors are spectacular. Interestingly, the piece does not completely close due to the demon head protruding from the box, but I think it is best displayed with the doors open in any case. The piece is in very good condition. There are some scratches on both sides. The front doors are also a little weathered/scuff, but that could be intentional. Piece measures approximately 11 inches high x 9 inches wide (14.5 inches with the doors extended) x 3 inches deep. If the item is not paid for within this time frame, it will be resold. Antique Folk Art Carved Painted Wooden SANTOS Sculpture religious fragment. I believe this to be an old Santos sculpture due to construction, but a beautiful old carving either way. Please draw your own conclusions from photos and zoom feature. Appears to have had wings on back and perhaps held a spear. Definitely shows considerable age. Just a great decorative object and sure to be the only one on your block. Measures about 8″ by 5″. Please get them approved before purchasing. Any questions must be answered before the sale. This is a wicked cool folk original piece by Mitris that is quite large and heavy (30lbs). One of a kind trippy art that is sure to make a statement! Definitely attracts the free spirited type! This does have some damage on top of frame and a few small sticks are bent a bit, but all minor issues and hardly noticeable. The frame could still be disguised by just painting broken pierce black. Nobody would notice it. Please see all pics. Overall, this is a phenomenal deal for an original artist piece that hung out with the 20th Century masters and is collected around the world.
