This artwork was born from pain and uncertainty. During the making of this piece, I was dealing with months of chronic pain and financial hardship which fueled my depression. This piece got me through the worst parts of it. I’m still dealing with a lot in my personal life, and art has been the outlet of expression that has helped me overcome the darkest moments. Medium: Posca Black Acrylic Paint Markers on 48″ x 36″ Stretched canvas ready to hang! Sprayed with 3 layers matte varnish. I WILL CONSIDER ALL OFFERS. FEEL FREE TO MESSAGE ME HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR WOULD. Art is my therapy. It’s a way for me to quiet down the noise in my head and express myself creatively. I don’t usually plan my pieces out in advance. I prefer to start with a blank canvas and see where the process takes me. I’m often inspired by concepts, ideas, and characters that don’t exist, but that are in some way an extrapolation of reality, observations, or personal experiences. (Next to artist for scale). (Sides are painted black). Be sure to check out my video in the listing’s gallery! Thank you for watching!

Vintage Ceremonial Dancer Ink Drawing w/ Embossed Details – 13.5 x 10.5. Original vintage ink and colored pencil drawing on heavy art board, measuring approximately 13.5 × 10.5 inches. The artwork depicts two ceremonial dancers wearing traditional regalia, including decorated gourd rattles, feather elements, patterned skirts, and mask-like headpieces. The geometric borders, color choices, and detailed costume elements show clear influence from Southwestern ceremonial traditions. As with the companion piece from the same artist, this drawing includes hand-embossed raised dots applied selectively with an embossing stylus. These raised dots appear only around the large star motif and in the surrounding halo areas, adding a textured dimensional effect to the composition. The artwork is unsigned and executed with careful, patient penwork and layered patterning characteristic of mid-century ceremonial or folk-art styles. Details. Medium: Ink and colored pencil with hand-embossed dot work. Support: Heavy art board. Size: approx. Shop, Sell, or Consign. Helga Schweininger signed original oil painting, titled “Feeling Lost” per the artist’s inscription on the verso. Canvas measures 30″ x 40″. An atmospheric, moody composition: a fog-shrouded purple-gray landscape of bare winter trees, with a ghostly white cherub-like figure perched in a tree and a nude figure standing in a dark alcove atop a staircase. A serpentine copper-orange form winds along the bottom of the scene. A muted, introspective palette of soft purples and grays sets this apart from the artist’s more saturated jewel-toned work. Signed “Helga” in paint, lower right. The artist, Helga Schweininger, was born and raised in the countryside near Graz, Austria, where she graduated from the Handelsakademie business college. She relocated to Southern California in 1962 following her marriage to her husband Ferdinand, and the couple settled in Costa Mesa, CA, where she has lived since. In addition to painting, she authored two published books: “Betrayal Of Lieschen’s Heart” (2004) and “Beyond Betrayal – Beyond Humanity: A Fictionalized Biography” (2012). This piece stands out for its quiet, dreamlike mood and unusual muted palette, a striking large-scale addition to any folk/outsider art collection. CONDITION: Front is clean and stable with no visible tears or losses. Verso shows scattered brownish staining (see photos) – cosmetic to the back of the canvas only; does not appear to have migrated to the painted surface. DIMENSIONS: 30″ x 40″ (unframed canvas). MEDIUM: Oil on canvas. SIGNATURE: “Helga” lower right, in paint. PROVENANCE: Costa Mesa, CA estate collection.
