This is a bold and colorful, hand-painted pottery piece from Mexico. It is a lovely tree of life (arbol de vida) candle holder, complete with Adam and Eve and the serpent. Made in Acatlan, Mexico in the polychrome (painted pottery) style. Lots of detail and work involved in all the hand formed leaves and flowers and figures. The pieces are all fired in outdoor kilns, painted and then attached to the tree form. The candle portion will hold 3/4 tapers. It measures 12″ tall by 14 x 4″. Up for sale is a rare pair of antique original Mexican Folk Art retablo oil paintings on tin. They are painted with rich color and exquisite stylized detailing throughout depicting gorgeous figural scenes. Both are done on thin pieces of tin and are mounted to a period wooden frame. They are in nice antique condition and measures 18 1/4 inches by 12 3/4 inches framed. Both have some paint loss and dings as shown in photos. Some ware to the frame edges as well. This offering is for a vtg early to mid 20th century portrait of a young Mexican man wearing s sombrero. The artwork is watercolor and gouache on artist board. The back of the painting as well as the back board are both signed by the artist N. The work is not dated but I’m guessing it’s from the 1940’s era. The artwork measures app. 13″ by 18.5″ and the framed size is 14″ by 19.5″ The condition is very nice with a bit of minor water staining along the very bottom edge. Vintage Mexico Folk Art Hand Crafted Painted Red Green Ferris Wheel Working. Unique hand crafted Mexican folk art hand turn wood ferris wheel. Red and green hand painted wooden hand crank ferris wheel with people mounted on wood base. It stands 11-1/2 tall. The wheel measures 7-1/4 in diameter. The base measures 4″ by 7-1/2″. The bottom is marked. Excellent vintage condition with no signs of damage or repairs. One of the riders is missing an arm (see photo). It comes to you clean from a smoke free environment. I love and collect pretty much anything vintage. My items, unless marked otherwise, have been previously enjoyed, discovered at estate or garage sales. EXCELLENT: Show typical signs of wear due to occasional use. VERY GOOD: Considered usable but has minor damage as described in listing. GOOD: This item is just that, but too good to pass up.
