This is a great piece with no flaws. Montgomery Native Mose Tolliver was well know for is folk art painted on wood. The watermelon art piece was one of his favorite pieces to paint. Mose always put a beer tap on the back for easy hanging.

You are viewing a n antique early Victorian painted silhouette of a large family 11 including the dog/pony! I would estimate it was painted sometime around 1840. This silhouette is one of three all from the same source, and all three were painted on card on the back of an old print. It also looks like all three silhouettes were framed at some point as they show evidence of yellowing where a frame once displayed them. This silhouette measures approximately 4 1/4 inches by 8 inches and has been matted in a modern mat which measures 6 1/2 by 9 1/4 inches. It is in great condition with no tears or holes. Some minor yellowing to the card where it was once framed. All items I sell are fully guaranteed to be as I have described them. Most of my auctions are listed with no reserve.
