Colors much more vivid than photos convey. Outsider art is art created by untrained people. It can be paintings, carvings, sculptures, or mixed media and can include found or unconventional materials. I have other paintings by Eric Legge but this is the most striking. I had it framed to bring out the teals and blues. 10.5″ x 6.5″ in frame. Self-taught artist Eric Legge was born in Illinois but raised in Georgia. He is inspired by the North Georgia Mountains where he has his home and studio. His father was a wood carver so he grew up creating art and never felt a need for formal training in art. No glass obscures the art.

Q uiet and spiritual in nature, Legge is a passionate and prolific art-maker, a painter and a found-object sculptor. He is inspired by the beautiful surroundings of the North Georgia mountains where his studio and home are located. He did not feel compelled to pursue an art education, preferring to follow his own creative flame. Eric attended Valdosta State University, earning degrees in anthropology and philosophy, paying for school by working in a program for special needs people who inspired him in the way they lived in the moment.
