This offering is for an antique circa 1930’s to 40’s folk art hand painted sign. The sign reads COUNTY RECORDER on one side only and it appears to have been connected to a post at some point. The length is app. 16″ long and 12″ high. The sign is made of heavy metal which I think is probably sheet iron. The condition is excellent as seen in our photo’s with no bends, breaks, dents or repairs. The painted surfaces have minor losses as should be expected but nothing severe. Description This au ction is for a Arlene Fisher Signed Original 1992 Lancaster County PA Farm Oil on Board. The piece is in very good condition with skuffs and dings to the frame. The image size measures 24X27 and the frame measures 27X31. The small tag in the lower left of the main pictures is a price tag for the piece hanging in my vintage shop. The tag is not attached to the painting just tucked between the frame and the painting. For more than 25 years, Arlene Fisher has been capturing the peacefulness and serenity of rural Lancaster life in her paintings. It is her way of preserving Lancaster’s farms. Her works are prized in Lancaster and are treasured by fans of Americana across the country. Part of her charm is that she “doesn’t make this stuff up”. Each of the homes, farms , schoolhouses, and other outbuildings portrayed in her paintings actually exist. Miniature Jacob Weber paint decorated trinket box, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania This is a detailed copy of an original Jacob Weber box. Some of his boxes feature a mustard yellow background and some with a very dark green background. Most all of them feature the colonial house flanked by two trees. This is an artisan reproduction made from old recycled pine. The paint decoration has been darkened and aged to look authentic. Complete with miniature hand made snipe hinges and a miniature hasp. A small group of these wall boxes, all very similar in form and pattern of decoration, are likely from a single maker in the Lancaster County, Pa region during the late 19th century.
