This small oil painting was found at a local estate. It depicts a town or city on the edge of a body of water reminiscent of the Mediterranean coast. It is done in a rather primitive style but still conveys a vivid sunny aspect with good depth. The condition of the piece is good, there is some minor damage to the back paper and the piece is housed in a composite frame with a loop for hanging. Measurements are: frame 6″ by 5″ sight size is 4 1/2″ by 3 1/2″.

Vintage Oil on Board- Ocean, Rocky Coast, Cottage Shack, Shoreline, Folk Art Decorative Im guessing this was done between the late 20’s up through the late 50’s hard to tell but board may give it away you have to decide also the painting measures approx. 19-7/8 X 16 inches is unframed. What’s wrong with it? Painting is in pretty good condition some minor paint loose, scratches, nicks dents dings along the edges and most defiantly needs a good cleaning. Up for sale is this breathtaking California Malibu Coastline by artist Scott VonWeller. From what I could find he painted a few pictures along the coastline of California in the 1930s. Apparently an immigrant from Germany. It is quite a gorgeous painting beautiful blues and greens in the water. The painting itself measures about 18″ × 24″. It appears to be yellow cedar and has the famous deeply carved RAVEN motif. Interesting grip/handle design and abalone eye. Nice aged patina and a couple of white marks across the beak and near the paddle tip. I did not try to remove them, but will leave this to the lucky winner. No date or place made listed. 31-1/4″ in length and about 5″ across at its widest point. From a clean smoke-free home. Don’t let it get away! From a non-smoke home.
