Very nice painting of chickens forging, on a farm- The painting was probably painted in the 1970’s based on the stretcher but it was added to this very nice antique frame- Frame condition is listed in the what’s wrong with it section. The outside measures for the frame are approx. 22 X 26 inches- The canvas measures approx. What’s wrong with it? PETI CLEMENTS African American Folk Art Paintings; a very nice painting from Petites Peti on Canvas Signed. 8″ by 10.5″ with frame. Peti Clements lived and worked in Birmingham, AL and these were probably painted in the 1970’s to early to mid 1980’s time frame. Clement was raised on a rural Alabama farm and many of her works depict the scenes of her early everyday life. The Tennessee Valley Art Museum has a wonderful collection in their permanent collection. Clements was born on August 6, 1911 and died November 25, 19999, but her art lives on.
