The piece measures 32-1/2″ x 21-1/4″. There are 8 or 9 levels of carved stacked wood. Good condition, there is a split on the left arch in one of the levels and some minor imperfections which are not uncommon on a piece of this size and age. This had been used as a mirror but could easily accommodate any type of artwork. The inner frame dimensions are approximately 13-1/4″ x 23-1/4″(to the top of the inner arch). 30s 40s Folk Art Deco Vintage Halloween Black Cat Childrens Chair. I believe this to be from the 30s or 40s, it may possibly be just a little later, but it is definitely vintage, not new. I also believe it to be American in origin. Constructed of painted pine. The cat motif is stylistically reflective of the Art Deco period, age related wear and paint surface crackling is all correct for its age. The elliptical design at the top of the back emulating inlaid veneer appears to be a transfer decal. I have done nothing to it, I have not cleaned it. Excellent all original condition, no touchups or repairs, age related minor wear as shown in a few places. Pretty spectacular overall given its age! Dimensions: 19 inches tall by 13 inches wide by 13 inches deep, seat height is 7 1/2 inches. Winner gets a spectacular, early folk art Americana watercolor and ink painting depicting a whaling scene. This is a very desirable subject, and very early. I would date the painting to the mid-late 1800’s. The painting is coming for sale fresh from a Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Estate. The frame measures 22.5″ x 14.5″, with the image measuring 20″ x 12″. The painting is in good, original condition, with staining around the left, right, and bottom edges, as seen magnified in picture 5. The painting is housed in a distressed, antique painted gold frame. In my opinion, it can be hanged as-is, but the winner may want to have it re-framed to cover some of the staining around the edges. What a piece of early American folk art!!! All my items have been stored in a smoke and pet free home in a temperature controlled environment since coming into my possession.
