The painted surface was done expertly sometime in the 20th century. It is 32 1/2″ long, 21 1/2″ wide, 38″ tall at the top of the gallery and 30″ tall at its work surface. Finely hand cut from black paper and applied to a gray Ink Wash Painting these Folk Art Silhouettes depict two young children. The boy is holding a Hoop & Stick and the little girl is holding a tree branch and small bird. The back paintings almost look like pencil, but they are painted with a very light ink wash. Both early 4″ by 5″ Silhouettes are perfect and they come under early thin glass in the original 5 ¼” by 6 ¼” Gold Gilt Frames.
