Wonderful 1930s wallpaper installer workmans chest, all wood with great iron strapping with amazing hand painted folk art elements. Nice solid old plastic carry handle. Uncle Sam and the Dutch boy are painted on the sides of this cool chest. Chippy and peeling they are perfect little folk art murals. Front of box has original owners name with gold and black Stenciling. Closed, box measures 22 by 13.5 by 7.25. Inside you will find 5 compartments Filled with antique wallpaper tools. HERE IS A FABULOUS PATRIOTIC HAND CARVED AND RED WHITE AND BLUE PAINTED UNCLE SAM HEAD WITH GLASS EYES PIPE. HE IS IN GREAT CONDITION. THIS PIPE PROBABLY DATES FROM THE 1900’S AND COULD BE A PROMO FOR WWI OR BEFORE FOR AN ELECTION. HE MEASURES 16 LONG WITH THE STEM. THE STEM APPEARS TO BE A HOLLOWED OUT TWIG. THE HEAD MEASURES 2″ WIDE BY 5″ TALL. THE CARVING IS FABULOUS-GREAT FACE!!!! THIS IS A ONE OF A KIND SURVIVOR OF OVER 100 YEARS. THERE IS A WIRE ATTACHED TO THE STEM FOR HANGING FOR DISPLAY. Here’s a vintage Folk Art Uncle Sam Figure, Hand made, Hand painted. I believe that the arms may have been made to hold an ash tray, piece has a hook at the top since it will not stand on it’s own. Shoes have tin/metal tacked to both sides. Measures 40″ Tall x 2 &1/2″ Wide x 14 Deep.
