Unusual Folk Art Type Profile English Portrait Miniature Professor Regalia 1800
Unique profile portrait miniature of a scholar in regalia. Unlike any I’ve seen before. I believe the painting is likely late Georgian although the frame would be a couple decades later. They show the wear to the frame but they don’t do this unusual piece justice! I have more antique portrait items listed so please check out my other auctions! Our mistake– no problem. Your mistake– NEVER AGAIN AT THIS SHOP. Headsup Rug shoppers– We shoot everything in indirect natural light to give the best approximation of reality. ” But understand that “color is a subjective thing completely dependent on quality and intensity of light. Any color can and will look completely different when viewed under incandescent vs fluorescent vs natural light. Shop carefully and try to consider how something WILL look in its intended context. As a rule lighter and brighter rugs work better in lower light situations. Darker rugs work better in brighter light.
