Antique 1880’s New England Early American Folk Art Child’s Sled. The Fantastic Early American Folk Art Child’s Sled is painted Red with Yellow Pin Striping & White Daisy Style Flowers. In the center are Two (2) Birds sitting on a Branch with Cherries. The Sled is Oak with Metal Runners over an Oak Framework. The Side Boards are Pegged. Don’t miss the chance to own this fantastic example of Early American Folk Art! USED CONDITION: There are the normal scruffs & scratches to the sled due to lots of use. There is a split lengthwise in the red body of the sled. There are pencil markings on the underneath side of the body. The split has been glued. The wood runner on one (1) has been broken & glued in two (2) spots at the upright post. The other runner has additional metal attached to both sides of the wood runner at the last upright post. There are some chips of wood missing & hairline cracks here & there. There are several holes in the body that do not go clear through the wood. The red paint is worn & missing in spots. Approximate Measurements: 32″ x 11.5″ x 11.5. If there is something specific you need to know, please ask questions! Condition: Used condition with wear consistent with age & use. Early Aafa Antique Folk Art Wood Child’s Sled Original Blue Paint Christmas

AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART WOOD CHILD’S SLED ORIGINAL BLUE PAINT CHRISTMAS. Up for sale is this amazing child’s sled. This is such a cute sled!! It’s a ligth blue and it’s a sled you (or small kids years ago would) sit on while wooshing down the snow! The runners are metal and this little sled is heavy for its size. We don’t recommend that you use this for your kids to downhill sled on, however, we do think it would make a great Teddy Bear display item or perhaps a Santa display for Christmas! The upper part is wood and it’s a worn light blue. The bottom rails are wonderfully shaped to plow through the snow. They are wrapped with metal and there’s a metal crossbar underneath also. On the back on the deck there’s some damage to the wood. There are holes in the front of the runners for a rope but there’s no rope. It’s in great condition for its age. The paint is all rough and worn as you can see in the pictures. As you’d expect, there are scuffs and paint loss, rust, paint drips, fading, scrapes, scratches, nicks, cracks, dings, worn off edges, edge wear, smudges, and patina! What a great look!! It’s been well-loved and probably has lots of miles of downhill slides on it!! We’re not really sure how you steer (probably with your feet off the back) it so we hope whoever had it was hanging on! The sled is in good condition though shows some wear from age, such as scuffs in the finish. The last photo shows that someone had previously glued the top piece of wood. Gorgeous old sled painted a wonderful Christmassy red with a yellow bird hand painted in the middle and stenciled embellishments at either end. Bent wood, metal renforcements and runners, old nail supports. Metal strips on n runners need a new nail and as you’d expect, there is wear to the paint. EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART PRIMITIVE WOOD TOY CHILD’S SLED WITH ORIG RED PAINT. Up for sale is this cute large child’s sled. It’s in great condition for his age. It is a wood sled on the large, heavy duty size with metal runners underneath. It has heavy duty metal rings and iron protectors on the front and heavy duty metal struts holding the sled up from the runners. The sled is a nice red color which looks to be its original color. The paint is all rough and alligatored as you can see in the pictures. As you’d expect, there are scuffs and paint loss, rust, fading, scrapes, scratches, nicks, cracks, dings, worn off edges, edge wear, smudges and patina! What a great look!! It’s been well-loved and probably has lots of miles of downhill slides on it!! We’re not real sure how you steer it so we hope whoever had it was hanging on! On the back you can see that the wood has deteriorated over time. The tails of the wood are worn, missing and chewed up. The rest of the wood has cracks and has dried out over time. It measures 55″ L x 23″ W x 7.5 high. It’s VERY heavy and weighs about 34 lbs. !! We hope this helps! We will do our best to answer your questions. Thank you for looking at this item.
