This offering is for an antique circa 1930’s to 40’s folk art hand painted sign. The sign reads COUNTY RECORDER on one side only and it appears to have been connected to a post at some point. The length is app. 16″ long and 12″ high. The sign is made of heavy metal which I think is probably sheet iron. The condition is excellent as seen in our photo’s with no bends, breaks, dents or repairs. The painted surfaces have minor losses as should be expected but nothing severe. This is a wonderful old painted sheet metal sign for Gas. This sign is hand painted over another sign that we cannot discern what it was. An excellent example of folk art and make do. The sign is thick sheet metal and the paint has a wonderful old surface with age cracks in the paint. Gas was 20 cents a gallon in the 1950’s and 1960’s, no doubt this sign is that old. A great painted sheet metal sign for a pig farm found in Pennsylvania. The sign is a great hand cut form and hand painted with wonderful shaded lettering. Reverse side hand painted for a horse for sale. The sign has a wonderful old painted surface and is a very workable size for any kitchen or restaurant. The pig is 32 1/2″ long x 22 1/2″ high.
