JONES drawing from BRUCE SHELTON in the late 1980s I think and its been hanging on my wall ever since. I never thought I would sell it but Im really trying to downsize. It is made with marker and crayon. The framed size is approximately 21 3/4 x 20 1/2 although it looks square. The image is approximately 15 1/4 x 13 3/4. The dark green mat and the simple black frame set it off perfectly. Jones is noted for his carved portrait heads. He started drawing when the carving became too difficult. His work is in many museum collections including the SMITHSONIAN and THE MUSEUM OF AMERICAN FOLK ART. He passed away at the age of 96 in 1997. The item “S. L.
