Estate sale acquisition from a private collection. Antique Leather Hat Box – Hand Painted. Please view all pictures to appreciate the piece. Wonderful Rare Folk Art piece – 19c / 1800s era, possibly earlier. Gold paint, flowers – leaves, detailing throughout. Piece shows wear with age throughout. Measures approximately 13 1/4″ wide by 9 1/2″ tall by 11 1/4 deep. Available for private inspection by appointment. Please view all pictures for more information and to judge condition for yourself. Antique 1800’s tooled leather hide Folk Art wine grape figural painting tapestry

Up for sale is a very rare antique 19th century hand tooled and painted leather hide tapestry. It signed on the bottom Lapayese and held by a detailed gilt wood hanger at the top. The painting is very large and painted on a natural piece of leather hide measuring 37 1/2 inches long by 28 inches wide. The wooden hanger at the top measures 34 inches wide. It depicts a wonderful scene of figures and animals surrounding a large basket of grapes while they combine their harvested collections. It has a lovely foliated trim at the top with a gold gilded edging. There is also gold gilded finish throughout the figural painting. The hides painting is heavily embossed with intricately done hand tooled detailing. It’s in nice used condition with normal ware tom age. The family name on the front of this hand painted Firefighter’s Bucket is Wm. It also is marked No 2 with the date 1833. There is wear to the Folk Art painted decoration, but overall this paint is in very good condition. The top and bottom edge of this 12″ tall by 8 ½” in diameter, this antique 19th century, American Fire Bucket is painted red and it is in original unrestored condition, however it is missing its original leather handle. Large 32in Hand Carved & Folk Art Painted Work Horse & Leather Halter Harness

Large 32in Hand Carved & Folk Art Painted Work Horse & Leather Halter Harness. My Granddaughter Cici loves this horse. The Folk Artist that hand carved this Large Wood Work Horse did not sign their work. This painted wood horse measures 32″ long by 23 ¼” to the top of the leather ears. The artist did a wonderful job of creating the leather and wood horse collar as well as the brass studded tack. The hair is made from very stiff hair, which actual may be horse hair. Overall this antique circa 1920s-40s Folk Art Carved Horse is in very good original condition. There is some missing hair from the mane and there is paint missing from the 9 ½” by 27 ¾” plywood base. There also is a stable old shrinkage crack down the center of the body. There are no other problems or restorations to this large American Folk Art Work Horse. We are listing it without any reserve.
