Decorated with a rust brown flower on green stems, and small white flowers. Great little spring garden scene. Maybe poppy flowers or black eyed susans? Measures 12.5 from bottom to top of socket. Pottery base measures 10″ tall and 6″ in diameter. The diameter is actually larger than 6″ as the diameter increases as it rises up the vase and then back down to 5″ at the top. Antique Original Folk Art Painting A young girl named Betty in a garden , gathering flowers. The text painted at the left is a poem. The girl , Betty , has a lisp : Why do you pass the roses Dear, That in the garden grow? Don’t you like the hollyhocks all standing in a row? Yeth said Betty with a lisp , Then in a puzzled way , I geth I like the daithies besthst because they like to play. ” Signed at the lower-right, ” E. Undated, however this was painted in the late 1800’s to very early 1900’s. Circa 1890 – 1910. Oil on stretched canvas. Original old nails attach the canvas to the stretcher, and the stretcher to the frame. Stretcher size is 6 3/8″ x 8 7/8″ Antique gilt , decorated picture frame , wood & composition (gesso). Frame size is x 8 1/2″ x 10 7/8″ Old wire hanger at the back. The gilt picture frame has chipping at the corners, signs of age. The canvas is in good condition. Primative or Folk Art Original Painting Molbak’s Christmas Garden Center

As a collector of primitive art, I have learned that I will never be able to afford a Grandma Moses or a Maud Lewis painting but that has not deterred me from collecting paintings by other artists who depict their kinds of themes. This painting is as charming as it gets. This is a large acrylic painting of a Garden Center in Washington in all its Christmas decoration regalia. The painting is on canvas on stretcherboards and measures 23″ by 29″. PLEASE check the photos for some of the details this artist captured. There is a pond and fountain scene, a decorated Christmas tree and stockings, the florist shop, Santa’s residence, a flowered gazebo, children playing and families shopping. You can stare at this painting all day and not catch all the finely executed details. Whimsical and colorful, this piece has it all. Artist’s name is N. Harvey (I think) who has signed the artwork at the bottom right. Probably dates to the early 70’s. A masterpiece of folk art to be sure.
