This is a really nice untouched square nailed period circa 1870s or earlier original paint black and white with nice molded boarder and size with great old untouched patina and paint from a Lewiston NY estate. In person this is really nice w nice size and proportions. One pic I separated the boarder molding to show the square nail – all good. Great Wall decor folk art. Early Aafa Folk Art Antique Wood Carnival Game Wheel Bicycle Original Paint

EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE CARNIVAL GAMING WHEEL GAME OF CHANCE WOODEN BICYCLE WHEEL. The wheel itself is all original with some nicks and scuffs here or there. We’re guessing that this is from the early 1900’s but we don’t know. On one side it’s yellow with black letters and blue trim. On the other side, you can pretty much just see the yellow wood part. The numbers on the front side range from 1 to 120 and start with 1, 21, 41, 61, 81, and 101, then 2, 22, 42, etc. We don’t know what game this would have been but this old wheel, mounted on a bicycle rim has great character and charm! The wheel measures 31.5 across and weighs about 8.5 lbs. The bicycle wheel measures 25 across. The pins around the wheel are metal, rust, strong and even somewhat sharp if you catch them wrong. The paint on the wheel is crazed, alligator-ed, worn, scuffed, nicked, marked and patina-ed… Just the way we love it! The bicycle wheel and the spokes are rusty, crazed and scuffed. The outside rim of the bicycle wheel is wood… Which could date it from as far back 1869 when they started making bicycle wheels made from metal spokes and wooden rims. Later, the rims went to metal so it’s likely that at some point, someone took an old wheel and made this game wheel. We don’t know the age of this item but we wish it could talk! AAFA FOLK ART SINGLE SIDED GAME CHECKER BOARD ORIGINAL RED PAINT SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this old hand-painted checker / game board. It has a great folk art feel to it! The board is a wonderful red color with cream-colored squares. It’s an 8 x 8 game board. There is paint loss, edge wear and hand wear but it looks just great! The game is on a two-piece board as we hope you can see in the pictures. We don’t know when the game was painted on but it looks old to us. It’s got great colors! The checkerboard has bread board ends and in the upper left corner there’s some chunks of wood missing. There are old rusty nails in the bread board ends. And, on the sides, the edging is a bluish color as you can see in the pictures. There are a couple of square nails which we tried to show in the pictures. Not all of the nails are square nails. Also on the top there is a nice round hook to hang it up by. On the back, the one smaller board is a different color and the bigger board is a wood color. There are two hangers on the back as you can see in the pictures. It measures 23.5″ L x 13.5″ W x 1 thick the main wood is. As mentioned, there’s some paint loss, nicks, scrapes, scratches, worn edges and dings. All of these “issues” are just as you’d expect from an item of this age… It’s still just a neat old board!! Up for sale is a wonderful antique original German chess match oil painting. It’s painted with rich color and an exquisite composition consisting of many different figures. There is a lady seated at a chess table in the foreground while the surrounding figures watch. It is painted on canvas and set in a very ornate modern gilt wooden frame that has a green velour matting. The original canvas was re-backed and stretched with new material as seen in last photo. It’s in nice condition with normal ware and measures 24 1/2 inches by 20 1/4 inches framed. It has some paint loss to one face as shown in last photo. Antique Game Rack Pennsylvania Dutch Tulip Paint Carved Wood Iron Hooks Folk Art

An antique wall-hanging game, fowl, or herb drying rack. Handmade and hand painted milled wood with a carved crown and five original embedded wrought iron hooks. The dealer we bought it from said it was probably late 1800s. We have seen closely similar racks identified as Pennsylvania Dutch and this rack shows a style of tulip painting that has much in common with known Pennsylvania museum pieces like the example in Henry Kauffman’s book Pennsylvania Dutch American Folk Art (see photos). We are not experts: please use your experience to evaluate; questions and comments are welcome. The rack has an interesting free-flowing floral painted decoration in blue, orange, teal green, white, and yellow. The design blends nicely with Norwegian rosemaled folk art; we used it to hang hand knit Norwegian mittens, Scandinavian acanthus carved meerschaum pipes, and wood chain wedding spoons from Norway. Condition is as pictured, structurally sound. Note a wood knot or an old filled hole between the far left 2nd and 3rd hook. Measures 36 inches long, 5. Inches high, and 2. Some who have seen it think it may have been cut down from a longer original. The upper molding may have doubled as a plate rail. Note that we shoot our pictures under several bright daylight lights to bring up detail; the rack looks darker in room light. Thank you for looking, questions are welcome. Antique Aafa Folk Art Double Sided Checkerboard Game Board Original Paint Red

ANTIQUE AAFA FOLK ART DOUBLE SIDED CHECKERBOARD ORIGINAL PAINT RED AND WHITE. Up for sale is this old hand painted checkerboard. It has a great folk art feel to it! The board is red and white with worn edges, paint loss and hand wear. The gaming part has beautiful bright red with white color alternating squares. The board is a 12 x 12 game field. It appears to be made from one large piece of wood with a couple of cracks in it. It measures 29″ L x 18″ W and is about 1.25 thick. It weighs about 7 lbs. There are two newer picture hangers on the back side to hang the checkerboard on the wall. You can see this in the pictures. Also on the back is a game. We don’t know what the game is, but it’s black rectilinear lines with a cross looking thing in the center of the board. This side also has worn edges, scrapes and hand wear. This is a GREAT double-sided game board!! As mentioned, there’s some edge wear, paint loss, nicks, scrapes, scratches and dings. Also, at the side of each players side, there was probably a small wood trim that would separate their checkers from the playing field. The paint is missing along this thin line as you can see in the pictures. All of these “issues” are just as you’d expect from and item of this age… It’s still just fabulous!!!
