Fred Gardner Original Art Cutz Acrylic Painting on Wood. Title: “Down At The Cross”. Art measures 4″ x 6″. Frame measures 10.5″ x 12.5″. Fred Gardner is African-American. He is a native Texan raised in Corsicana. He is an Artist by profession, love and passion. Matriculating from an agrarian background, Fred’s love for the earth was nurtured in the center of East Texas soil where majestic oak and cedar trees cemented pastoral country visions. His grandfather felled trees and ran a fence business while Fred was a child. His father had a love for wood working but never pursued his passion; he instead maintained a ranch as a hobby where Fred worked constantly. These childhood memories placed an indelible mark on his soul which influenced his love for wood, art and beauty.

In Classic Fred Bonn Genre and Style, this Fred Bonn Original Oil Painting on Board depicts “Jody’s Place — Fine Dining and Dancing” with vintage trucks and cars out front. Signed and dated “’78 “. Vibrant colors show off the very good condition of this painting. There are no scratches, fading, or loss of color on the painting. The photo of the full painting (cover photo) has light/glare from photo flash. There are just a few scuff marks on the outer edges of the frame (see white part and last photo) which could be touched up if you so desire. The outer edges of the framed painting measure 15×15 inches. The painting itself measures 14×14 inches. The frame is 2 1/2 inches deep with a hollow back. What you see on the last photo scuff is the scuff on the top of the white frame, and underneath, on the green part of the painting, is the smoke from the chimney, (and not dirt). Outstanding example of Bonn’s widely collected Classic Cars/Diners Americana series from 1981. Scarce original oil measures 30″ long and 18″ tall not including dark stained wood box frame. Image features four stylized classic cars parked in front of the “Big Pine Creek” Diner & Gas Station and red Ford pick-up hauling hay across a trestle. Great color and detail! Image has two areas of surface wear from storage: above gas station (circled in photo) and in upper right corner near diner smoke (circled in photo). Not quite perfect but displays great. No holes, stains etc. Frames has some small dents and light storage wear, mainly along edges. Backing features original Bonn biographical info. 30 day satisfaction guarantee. Thank you for visiting one of our auctions. Here is a treasure my wife and I found on our daily trasure hunts. Up for your consideration is an original Fred Bonn painting. It has some of the classic Fred Bonn features: Orange sky and sun, old car and smoke. Signed by Fred Bonn and dated it lower right hand corner. Has the original frame and tag from the artist shop. The painting is 10″ wide and 8″ tall. Has the original frame. You can see and feel the brush strokes, and the texture of the bushes. Condition: The painting needs a good cleaning, I do not know how to do this. The painting is a little loose in the frame. I have pictures that show some of the areas that need cleaning. There is a small area of damage on the upper edge, about in the middle. The frame has some dings. Terms of Sale: All sales are final unless the item is not as described.
