Vtg Miniature Folk Art Painting Leather Tigua Ecuador Signed Gustavo Quindigalle

A vintage, miniature painting signed by Gustavo C Quindigalle! Others I’ve seen note that Gustavo is from Ecuador, and is a Tigua artist, although I couldn’t find any definite info on him. The painting looks to be on leather; I’ve seen others specified as lamb’s skin, but not certain! The painting is very detailed, and especially so considering the size of it! Depicts two farmers with some alpacas? In a field of tall grass and flowering plants and there’s a mountain/volcano in the background with lots of birds flying about. The wooden frame that the leather is stretched over isn’t completely straight, so if you lay the art face down, it does wobble some. There’s a crack in the paint near the top right corner (shown in photo 4). Light surface scratches scattered about. There are a few little scuffs or possibly color loss spots at the bottom edge of the painting. MEASUREMENTS: Painting measures approximately 6″ wide and 4″ tall. For sale is a vintage, original folk art painting by renowned Ecuadorian artist. He is one of the Quicha artists of Tigua. His paintings are exhibited at the Exedra Cultural Foundation at the Organization of American States in Washington D. At UNESCO headquarters in Paris, the Hearst Museum at the University of California, Berkeley and the Presidential. Carondelet Palace Ecuador, located in Quito. The scene depicts a village bullfight with the Andes Mountains in the background. It is painted on sheepskin in vivid colors, as is the frame and it is signed by the artist in the lower left-hand corner of the “canvas”. It measures approximately 11 1/2″ x 9 3/4″ x 1.
