C1850 Excellent Large American Ebonized Dutch Ripple Folk Primitive 16 x 19 Frme

This is a beautiful mid 19th century ebonized American Dutch ripple frame. Excellent light reflection on this form with numerous, varying waves of differing heights and widths. Original ebonized surfaceon 3 wide molding with a lemon pie crust liner, black painted sides and square nailed mitered construction. The frame is in excellent condition with only minor wear and measures 21 1/2 x 24 3/4 with a 16 1/4 x 19 1/2 rabbet. Just so hard to find these larger period ripples in nice condition…….. C1850 Outstanding American Ebonized Dutch Ripple Folk Primitive 16 x 20 Frame

This is an excellent mid 19th century American Dutch ripple ebonized frame. The color of this ripple is a bit different…. Not the more common deep solid black but more of a dark chocolate-black. In bright outdoor light it looks a bit more brownish…. But in indoor light it looks more ebonized. It has the original lemon pie crust liner that has been shimmed in due to shrinkage and black painted sides. The frame is in excellent condition, measures 18 3/4 x 22 3/4 with a 16 1/4 x 20 rabbet and looks to have been resized. Period ripples are always a tough find and they have so many uses. Antique Vtg 19th C 1870s Ebonized Ripple Pattern Picture Frame Folk Art Portrait

This offering is for an antique mid to late 19th century Molded Ripple Pattern Picture Frame. The frame measures app. 10 3/4″ by 12″ and the rabbet measures app. 12 8 1/8 by 9 3/8 The frame was constructed with round nails so it dates from the 1850’s to about the 1880’s. The original dark varnish finish is very nice and it has a glided inside edge. There is a surface chip on one of the corners as seen in our close-up photo’s. Otherwise the condition is very nice with only light scattered wear. The surface is excellent and untouched with a great deep patina. The frame will make the perfect addition to an early portrait, folk art painting or print.
