FABULOUS EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART DAPPLE TOY ROCKING HORSE ORIGINAL PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful early rocking horse. He’s an amazing sideboard horse. He’s in great condition for his age. And, he has a nice happy look to him! He base measures 48.75 inches long by 12.5 inches wide at the bottom (widest part). He is 26.5 inches high to the top of his head. He’s a white and black dapple horse with a green base and a little red saddle. He has painted eyes and parts of his leather bridle. He also has little leather trimming around his tail behind the saddle. He’s all hand painted with tons of character! He was well played with over the years and has wear and patina you’d expect. He appears to have all original paint and it’s crackled and alligatored as you can see in the pictures. He has a wooden arched base. The base is in pretty good shape and rocks nicely. As you can see in the pictures, he has some areas where his paint has chipped or flaked off. Overall he shows very well and these “issues” add character and proof of age to him. As you’d expect, there are scuffs and paint loss, scrapes, scratches, nicks, dings, holes in the sideboards, cracks, seams, edge wear, smudges and patina! What a great look!!
