60s Black African American Outsider Folk Art Oil Painting Clementine Hunter Styl
Depicts a black woman in skirt and hat sitting on a bench outside of a southern style red plantation house. A blue and white swirling sky can be seen done in Impasto above the house. To the right of the seated woman is a large tree and to the left of the house are attached buildings, most likely a stable and barn. Well done with nice use of color and thick paint. Medium is oil on canvas board done in a folk art/Outsider Art style; reminiscent of Clementine Hunter. No signature that I can note but I have not removed the piece from the frame to look for inscriptions or finger prints. Framed in its original mid century white and gold painted molded wood frame. Backed with brown paper and ready to hang. In Excellent overall condition. Clean, bright and vibrant with no scuffs scrapes damage or wear; very well preserved. Frame shows just gentle wear.
