Early 1800s Antique Folk Art Pennsylvania Dutch Side Chairs Wood Hand Painted
RARE SET OF 6 EARLY AMERICAN PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH SIDE CHAIRS CIRCA 1800’s HAND PAINTED. Up for sale is this amazing set of 6 Early American Pennsylvania Dutch chairs. They have turned legs and painted backs, seats and legs. They are a Hitchcock style chairs with hand-painted floral designs with yellow, green, black and faded white colors on the backs and they have painted seats and legs of white and yellow designs. All 6 chairs match. The stain on the chairs is a deep, rich brown color all nicely patina-ed. The back of the backs of the chairs are plain brown. There’s wear on the seats and one some of the edges where people rubbed over the years. We think these are from the 1800’s but they might be earlier, we’re not sure as we are not experts in the ages of things. The chairs are sturdy. Some of the back of the backs have some little scrapes and wear as you can see in the pictures. The seats show wear, variation in color. And nicks in the finish. Some of the footrests also show wear and loss of stain from rubbing shoes and feet on the rungs. Some of the rungs are just a little loose as you might expect from years of use. Have nicks, chips, edgewear and wonderful patina on them as you’d expect from chairs of this age! The chairs measure 33 inches H x 19 inches W at the backs (15.25 W at the seats) x 14 inches D. Pair Antique Bentwood Folk Art Stencil Painted Chairs Early Hitchcock Rush Seat
Fantastic vintage stencil painted bentwood chair, in the Hitchcock style, black painted with green/ yellow hand stencil. Unmarked, maker may be early Hitchcock or another similar. American, likely very early bentwood, late 1800’s – early 1900’s. Good strong condition with age and wear stenciling very worn. Lots of age and patina. Original rush seats are strong and intact, one seat has a approx 2 cut on seat, does not detract much and could be stabilized w glue. Rush seats are also painted with green/ yellow color. Very unusual pair of chairs with beautiful rustic quality. Size each approx 34″ tall to top of back, 18″ seat height. Seats are approx 17″ across seat, 16.5″ depth. SO CUTE! Antique Primitive Folk Art Painted Childs Table and Chairs Set AAFA
Really nice 1930’s – 1940’s toddler sized wooden toy table and two matching chairs, hand painted with little pink roses with red and green accents. Paint and finish is original. The set is in good used condition. Sturdy enough to be used for toddlers, take a close look at the pictures, some wear and tear also makes a great photography prop or use for dolls or bears as display. Table – 19″ wide by 17″ tall by 15 deep. Each Chair – 20″ tall by 12″ wide by 10 deep. Chair seat – 10″ by 10″ by 10. I have seen sets very similar to this one made by the South Bend Toy Company in Southbend Indiana from the 1930’s. I believe they were marketed as KINDERSETS. This one has an old paper label under one chair but it isn’t readable. Would look so cute in your Country Primitive Home! The item “SO CUTE! Rare set of 8 Decorated Chairs – a few variations in the set, as I do not believe they were all done at the same time – 2 – will show additional green paint on back slat – 1 chair does show a repair on back side – 1 chair show rough seat – The set is solid, sturdy and colorful! – the 2 earliest will show to left and does not have the double decoration on leg – fruit on front of seat, some will show orange, some will red – Great set for the country setting – black with bold colors, – if I had a larger Dinning area, I would keep them! – MEASUREMENTS – 32 BACK HEIGHT X 20 FRONT TO BACK X 19 1/4 WIDE AT TOP – SITTING HEIGHT IS 17 1/2.
