Up for sale is an Original Painting of 1930s NYC SUBWAY RIDERS by listed artist WILLIAM “BILL” MARLIEB. This colorful Folk Art piece is acrylic paint on canvas that has been beautifully framed. MARLIEB’02 in lower right corner. Image area measures 15 1/2″ by 19 1/2″ and the frame measures 22 1/2″ by 26″. Please check out all the pics. Bill Marlieb is a fourth generation New Yorker. He now lives in Wilsonville’s Charbonneau, Oregon. He graduated from New York School of Industrial Art and studied at the Art Students League and the Mew School of Social Research. He also studied under New York painters Leo Russell and Judith Epstein.

Reverend Bill Comeau Outsider Folk Art Painting. Measures 17-3/4″ across x 14″ tall x 1 deep. Comeau was a student of Corita Kent, having met in 1968 when he and Kent were hired to produce materials for their churches. The pair stayed in contact until Kent’s death, having collaborated on prints utilizing Comeau’s art and Kent’s calligraphy.

In the style of 19th American School Trompe L. Marked: see photo L Materne? Other initials underneath on lower right.
