AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART PIE SAFE CABINET CUPBOARD ORIGINAL ROBINS EGG BLUE PAINT. Up for sale is this fabulous old primitive cabinet or cupboard. It’s a nice old pie safe with doors down below, a drawer and an open cabinet above. On the sides it has nice tins that appear to be original to the cabinet. We don’t know how old it is, but it looks early 1800’s to us! The cabinet has beautiful dry chippy robin’s egg blue paint. This old cabinet is a survivor. There may have been doors on the top part at one point. Along the front there are rounded slotted screws with blue paint on them at a few points. The back is made from slats as you can see in the pictures. Along the sides of the back there are some tiny bright nails. The cabinet doors are a Shaker style doors and hinges. The drawer is dovetailed as you can see in the picture. The bottom and side skirts have a nice scrolled look to them, almost a whaletail but not quite. The top has wooden dowels in it as you can see in the picture. The doors work nicely and there’s a little wooden thumbturn to hold the right door shut and a wooden knob to open it. The hinges are old Shaker style pin hinges. It’s a wonderful dry wood and is a light blue in color with old worn paint. The paint appears to be all original on the front sides. Scrapes, patina, fading, and is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, flaked, nicked, edge-worn. There’s white, cream and wood colors showing through the blue. The inside looks all original with great patina too! There’s an old mouse hole on the back with a lead / tin repair over it as you can see in the pictures. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! We don’t know the age or origin of this cabinet but we do know that it’s special!
