Small dome top document box decorated with wall- stenciler’s patterns. 19th century, constructed of poplar with original hinges and hasp lock. Nice and clean inside. Measurements are: 11-1/4″ wide x 5″ tall x 7-1/8 deep. The box is an original early document box with later paint decoration and a nice dry surface. The box features a red background with compote motif on the front and top along with fancy stenciled borders. Wear to the top and scratches and wear to the front and sides.
